Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is here to fill the Netflix drama drought you’re currently experiencing (we’re already panicking, Succession’s end is soon approaching). Over a year since Bridgerton season two aired, after breaking streaming records a year before with its first season, the prequel to the Ton has finally graced us with its regal presence, and we couldn’t be happier.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, out now, explore young queen's marriage to King George of England ushers in an epic love story and transforms high society. While Bridgerton’s Queen’s Charlotte is played by actor Golda Rosheuvel, its prequel sees India Amarteifio take to the screen to play the Monarch.

In the newly-released series, Amarteifio stars opposite the likes of Arsema Thomas, Corey Mylchreest, and Adjoa Andoh. Despite having grown close to her co-stars during filming the series in Reading, UK, it seems the newcomer and her on-screen love interest Mylchreest (who plays a young King George) need some warming up when facing a grilling about their fellow actors.

During a recent game of 'Knowing Me Knowing You' about their Queen Charlotte co-stars, the pair struggled to guess which actor starred in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. ‘This is really bad, I know these films really well,’ admitted Mylchreest before blurting out Michelle Fairley’s name (the Northern Irish star played Hermione Granger’s mother in the film).

As for which Hogwarts Houses their characters would be ‘sorted’ into, they both agreed that Amarteifio’s Queen Charlotte would be a Ravenclaw or a Gryffindor. ‘The only one you’re definitely not is Hufflepuff. You could be Slytherin,’ Mylchreest said, much to Amarteifio’s shock. ‘Good things come from Slytherin!’ he insisted, before his co-star noted: ‘Draco Malfoy came from Slytherin. ‘Look at him now, good guy!’ Mylchreest responded, before noting about his character: ‘I think George is a Hufflepuff. Loyal, loving, caring.’

Reflecting on their time shooting the Netflix show, the pair said that ‘every day was funny and memorable’.

‘We used to film a lot… we were given a Netflix social media phone. I don’t know where it is, but it deserves to be buried because I don’t know what’s on that,’ added Mylchreest, with the pair recounting a story of the cast throwing tennis balls at each other’s heads and jumping over hedges, much to the set designers’ dismay.

Elsewhere the pair correctly guessed that prime minister Rishi Sunak said his favourite Bridgerton character was Queen Charlotte, played by Rosheuvel, before Mylchreest discussed what his first rule would be if he was PM for the day. ‘I would bring the Tesco’s £3 Meal Deal back. I think it’s like £3.80. The 80 has done us dirty,’ he joked.
