Anyone in fashion knows the importance of the first Monday in May—otherwise known as the night of the Met Gala. This year, the 2023 iteration—which is celebrating late designer Karl Lagerfeld with its upcoming exhibit, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”—prompted stars and designers alike to dress in honor of the German fashion icon. Many attendees turned to the archives for their looks, with celebrities like Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Dua Lipa, and Margot Robbie wearing vintage Chanel. Others opted for black and white or neutral ensembles that touched on the body of work Lagerfeld created during his career (don’t worry, there were some pops of color spotted on the red carpet, as well).
As one of fashion’s biggest nights out, you can rest assured that the star-studded carpet was filled with awe-inspiring ensembles to take in.
